BNI Consulting Director
Back in October of 2004, I became a member of an international referral networking
group called BNI. Ever since I became a member, BNI has been my biggest revenue
source. I had tried other forms of advertising and nothing has had the return on
investment that BNI has had for me over the years. As I look back, I can safely say that
BNI is what kept me in business through the beginning years of my business.
In September of 2011, I was afforded the opportunity to become a Consulting Director
for BNI in my Garner/Raleigh area. As a Consulting Director, it is my responsibility to
maintain the guidelines set up by BNI so that each member of each chapter can have
the same success both personally and professionally that I have.
BNI Concept: Giver's Gain
Over the course of time there have been many forms of advertising and there will be
new ways in the future. One thing remains the same though, the power of "Word of
Mouth Advertising" and "Referral Networking" are still one of the most powerful and
productive ways to increase your business.
BNI at it's base is about one thing: Giver's Gain. For each BNI Member the philosophy
is simple. Each time a referral is passed the member receiving the referral has a
natural reaction to want to reciprocate the gesture. The reaction might not be to the
member that gave the referral but to another member, which in turn will have that same
natural reaction of wanting to pay it forward. Eventually, everything comes full circle and
each member will receive business by simply looking to help out their fellow chapter
members.
